Wings One Hand Clapping Coming to Television

Wings One Hand Clapping Coming to Television

Rumour is it was rejected due to quality reasons when offered to TV stations fifty years ago, now it will be televised in the U.K.

The “One Hand Clapping” made-for-TV film of Wings and Paul McCartney rehearsing in the EMI Studios in Abbey Road in 1974 was a cinematic event earlier this year. After fifty years, it is finally destined for television screening. This occurs on Boxing Day, December 26 on the TV channels Sky Arts and Now, Sky Group informs us.

Of course, we are hoping the film will also be televised elsewhere. The TV edition is likely to also feature Paul’s solo “Backyard session”, like the version which hit cinemas earlier this year.

At the time, Wings consisted of Paul, Linda, Denny Laine, Jimmy McCulloch and Geoff Britton. Britton was asked to leave the group soon thereafter. He will be one of the guests of next year’s Beatle Week in Liverpool.

“One Hand Clapping” was released in album form on 14 June 2024. Read Mike Carrera’s blow-by-blow of the album here.
